Governor Deal, Veto That Bill!
The Georgia Legislature passed the Arizona-like anti-immigrant bills HB 87/SB 40. Tim Franzen of the American Friends Service Committee and Georgia Peace and Justice wrote an excellent piece, part of which is reproduced below:
This is a human rights issue. Immigrants rights are human rights. What people who vigiled today at the capitol are fighting for is simply the right to exist in a space they have called home for years, a space they have contributed to greatly.
